Physical Fitness What To Start With?

What To Start With
To get started with fitness, start by getting through these basic first steps.
1. Meet with your doctor to talk about your overall health. Ask him for measurements of your blood pressure, your heart rate as well as any other important factors he may be interested in you improving. Determine that you are healthy enough physically to begin improving through diet and exercise.
2. Get your weight. Do this at home on a well programmed scale, not at your doctor’s office. Do it first thing in the morning after you’ve gone to the bathroom but before you have eaten. Do it the same time and same way every time you weigh yourself.
3. Calculate your BMI. You need this to see just how unhealthy you are currently. It’s going to come down and that will be quite rewarding!
4. Measure your waist. Stand up straight. Pull up your shirt, suck in your gut and measure at your belly button all the way around using a tape measure. This will be your indication of your weight loss and health improvement.
5. Set your goals. Determine what’s important for you to maintain, to improve on, and to work on first. Write them down and post them in several locations in your home.
Now that you have this done, you can begin to improve your health. We’ll help you throughout the process!
Its Not Only For Weight Loss
Although many people start looking into fitness because they want to lose weight, fitness is not just about weight loss. By understanding where you stand on these factors above, you can work to improve your overall wellness and increase your lifespan as well as the quality of life that you are currently living.
If you don’t think that you need to lose weight, that’s great! You are one step closer to being healthy. But, that’s not to say that you don’t have health problems beyond that level. Many people are still at risk for high blood pressure, high cholesterol as well as other concerns even though they aren’t technically overweight. Therefore, you need to take into consideration the fact that overall health is in fact important to improve.
We’ll point you in the direction of improving your overall health. For many that will mean losing weight. For others, that will mean improving other qualities of your life. There’s much to learn and improve on for most of us.
What You Will Learn
• Improving your body fitness
• Improving your diet fitness
• Improving your mind fitness
• Improving your lifestyle fitness
Each of these aspects is quite important. While your body must be maintained as much as possible for health, it doesn’t do much good if you don’t eat the right foods. Losing weight, for example, isn’t enough if you aren’t eating the right foods even if you are losing weight.
With your mind fitness, we mean making sure you are emotionally and mentally fit. That means insuring that your overall life is healthy in regards to the life that you lead. Emotional stability is critical to overall health.
With lifestyle fitness, the goal is to improve your stress level. It has been shown that those that are under a lot of stress are often the most at risk for health problems due to the stress.
Throughout each of these aspects, we’ll teach you how to improve your life through easy, and even fun, ways. Because each plays a role in your overall health, we’ll tackle what the healthy standard is, help you to understand where you are and then help you to get to the goals that you have.
Since your body is likely to be your largest factor impacting your life, we will start there. Remember, each aspect is just as important as the next, though.

What Is An American?
A while back there was a report that someone in Pakistan had published in a newspaper that offered a reward to anyone who killed an American, any American!
So an Australian dentist wrote the following to let everyone know what an American is, so they would know when they found one:
An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek.
An American may also be Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani, or Afghan.
An American may also be a Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as native Americans.
An American is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim. In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan. The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them chooses.
An American is also free to believe in no religion. For that he will answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God.
An American is from the most prosperous land in the history of the world. The root of that prosperity can be found in the Declaration of Independence, which recognizes the God given right of each person the pursuit of happiness.
An American is generous. Americans have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need. When Afghanistan was overrun by the Soviet army 20 years ago, Americans came with arms and supplies to enable the people to win back their country. As of the morning of September 11, Americans had given more than any other nation to the poor in Afghanistan.
Americans welcome the best, the best products, the best books, the best music, the best food, the best athletes. But they also welcome the least…
The national symbol of America, The Statue of Liberty, welcomes your tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the homeless, tempest tossed. These in fact are the people who built America. Some of them were working in the Twin Towers the morning of September 11, 2002 earning a better life for their families.
I’ve been told that the World Trade Center victims were from at least 30 other countries, cultures, and first languages, including those that aided and abetted the terrorists.
So you can try to kill an American if you must. Hitler did. So did General Tojo, and Stalin, and Mao Tse-Tung, and every bloodthirsty tyrant in the history of the world. But, in doing so you would just be killing yourself. Because Americans are not a particular people from a particular place. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, is an American.

Ferret As Pets
What do you think about having ferrets as pets? Speak with any ferret owner and they will describe their pet as playful, loving, and friendly. Maybe even adventurous.
This may be the reason why you have decided to adopt a ferret. You are definitely have the right idea, looking for these characteristics in your new lovable little pet. The next thing to consider is where will you go to find your new fuzzy little pet.
Adopt a ferret from a shelter? No doubt your intentions are good. And in a many ways it is a smart choice. Rescue a ferret who has already had a home. Another good thing is that the workers at the shelter will upfront in disclosing everything about your potential new fuzzy family member.
They want nothing more than to see the ferret have wonderful lifelong home. There are usually variety of choices in ferret age and color, especially in the larger shelters.
But be aware, this adoption option is not right for every person. Be mindful that not every ferret in a shelter was brought there simply due to lack of room in the home or not enough money to purchase food. Consider the fact that some of these cute fuzzy creatures may have been mistreated or neglected and may need lots of special attention and some extra patience.
They may also be scared of humans, with good reason. Not only would you have to get the ferret used to your household, but you will have to convince them that they are safe and loved and will not get hurt there. Many of these fuzzy creatures will also have some health issues, such as medications or a special diet. If you are sure that you have the time and energy needed to care for the them, then they will be one lucky little ferret.
Having said all of that, you can still find a ferret who was not neglected or abused at a shelter. You just need to ask all the appropriate questions, to get the information necessary to make your best decision. Adopting from a shelter is a ‘transparent” transaction. What this means is that the people who work in and maintain the shelter are doing it because they are driven by a true love of animals, not money. The money is secondary. In fact, it is only a necessary evil in some of their eyes to keep the establishment running. shelter is created for the purpose of finding good homes for the animals.
Pet shops are a popular choice for first time owners, because they may not know any other place to look for their new pet. If you decide to go to a pet shop, make sure that you get a health guarantee. Also be sure to look in your local classified ads, this is a great alternative.
But do not limit yourself to just the local newspaper classified ads. Check out the public bulletin boards at your local veterinary clinics. Ferrets adopted in this manner are usually older.
Although, when you adopt a ferret from the previous owner, they will be able to give you information about the health and personality! Many times, not only will you get an adorable playful pet, but you will often get a load of supplies, toys and maybe even a home for the fuzzy!

The Dream Job: Any Reasons Not To Work At Home?
The Dream Job:
Any Reasons Not To Work At Home
If you talk to some individuals, working at home online is the 21st- century utopia. But for many individuals, the appeal just isn’t there. The disadvantages, for these people, outweigh the good points. Why would anyone not want to work at home? Several reasons.
Let’s check out the financial aspect of working from home from another perspective. No work. No pay. You can’t take a day off and go to your employer to fill out a slip for vacation pay. When you’re ill, you can’t call your employer and take a sick day.
No work. No pay. It’s that simple. Many individuals simply don’t want — or can’t — deal with that type of situation. For some, simply knowing that no matter what, come Friday afternoon someone is handing them a paycheck brings them back to work Monday morning. Is this you?
Interruptions In Your Day
We’ve mentioned how some parents love working at home because it keeps them closer to their families. For this very same reason, many people wouldn’t dare work at home. It can be very difficult to concentrate on entering data or writing an eBook when a five-year old interrupts you every half hour for something — and it’s usually just your attention he wants.
That doesn’t even count the adults who like to squeeze as much time out of you during the day as possible. They think since you work from home and you don’t have a boss looking over your shoulder, you’re free to talk all afternoon.
If you don’t rein these individuals in quickly, they could zap both your precious time and energy. While it’s true you can always rearrange your schedule, who wants to keep working every day until 6:30 p.m. or 7 p.m. because Aunt Jillian called in the middle of the afternoon talking about her herb garden?
Now you can see where time-management skills and a diligent work ethic are “must have” traits of anyone who plans to work at home.
Which brings us to yet another disadvantage of working at home: knowing when to walk away from the computer and telling yourself you’ve worked enough for the day.
Just because you have the potential to work all day and all evening, doesn’t necessarily mean you need to do so. You need to know when to close up shop for the day, so to speak. Loking for online job Work online!>
Scrapbooking and Timesaving Tips
In this article you will learn several tips and helpful hints with your scrapbook. Whether you are a first time scrapbooker or an old pro, these tips should help with your scrapbook budget and ideas.
1. First, to prepare for your future scrapbooks always carry a camera with you. This way you will never miss that once in a lifetime moment. If you have a digital camera it may be a good idea to also carry a disposable camera too. In case your program is full you will have a backup.
2. When taking photos of your children it is good idea to get down to their level. This will give them a natural position instead of having the children look up at you. Catching them doing their daily activities and not posing is also a great photograph to capture.
3. The type of paper your photos are processed on can determine how long your pictures will last. Fuji film will last about 75 years, while Kodak film will only last an average of 20 years. Wal-mart uses Fuji film and offers a great deal for processing pictures.
4. When you are capturing those special moments take more than one picture and use different angles. This will ensure you to have at least one quality picture. If you want to include the background of a vacation spot or landmark you can use a wide angle lens.
5. An easy way to remove pictures from an old photo album is to use dental floss. Simply place the dental floss under the top of the picture and slowly slide it down like a saw. The picture should peel away once this is done.
6. If the photo is glued to an album page you can use a hairdryer to help remove the photo. First, you would place a small towel or light piece of fabric over your photo to protect it from the heat. Next, you would turn the hairdryer on medium heat. After a few minutes the glue should begin to soften and the photo should start to peel away.
7. Remember to get extra copies made of the pictures you are getting developed. This way you will have them ready for your next scrapbook project. Many photo labs will offer free doubles or at least a discounted price. Another way to save your pictures is on a cd. Check your local newspaper for coupons or special savings.
8. Before you toss those pictures in a storage container label the back of the pictures with the names, dates, and any important information you want to remember about the occasion. This will come in handy for journaling on the scrapbook pages. Take the time to write the information down while it is fresh in your mind. It will guarantee accuracy of the events and subjects in the picture. Always write the information with an acid-free pen. An ordinary pen can rub and ruin your photos.
9. Keep your photos organized and stored in proper containers. Being organized now will provide you with a stress free start on your upcoming scrapbook projects. Only use containers that are labeled archival quality. They can be found in photo shops or hobby stores. If your finances does not allow you to purchase photo containers at least purchase an air tight container. Your photos are the only thing you have to remember the past, so take the time and effort to ensure the quality of your pictures.
10. Storing your pictures in their proper place will guarantee their longevity. Keep them stored in areas away from humidity and sunlight. Preferably a closet on the main level in your home. If you must store them in the basement keep them away from the furnace or laundry area. On a top shelf in a far corner would be ideal for storing. You may want to invest in a dehumidifier to keep the moisture away from your photos.

Simple Mediation
Simple mediation can start like this.
1. Find a location that’s quiet and where you know you won’t be bothered. You are looking for ten to twenty minutes of undisturbed meditation here. Turn off all telephones and anything else that could become a distraction.
2. Now, sit comfortably and quietly. Keep your back in position with your spine vertically aligned. Remember that posture is something that you need to make happen.
3. Commit to what you are doing right now. That means not allowing distraction to play a role now. Commit to not being interrupted by anything happening in the world around you. Most importantly, remove anything from the room or from your line of view that could be a potential distraction. Commit to performing meditation.
4. Select a word that fits into your natural belief system. For example, use “love” “peace” or others. If you are religious, select a work of a short phrase that signifies what you believe. “Hallelujah” or “Om” make good choices. Close your eyes once you’ve selected the right word. Closing your eyes helps you to enter into relaxation.
5. Now, we’ll go through the body and relax each of the muscles in it. Start with your toes. Consciously think to yourself that your toes should relax and feel them relax. Next, move to your feet, your legs and so on. You want to allow each of your muscles to relax. Make sure to include your neck, your jaw, your pelvis, back, your arms, fingers and hands, and shoulders. As this happens, feel the tension leave your body.
6. Continue to breathe through the process in deep, long breathes and repeat your mediation word over and over again. Breathe in, say your word, breathe out, and repeat. You don’t need to say the word out loud, but rather mentally pronounce it.
7. Use the passive attitude that we’ve talked about. If any thoughts come into your mind while you are sitting, relaxing, let them go out simply by telling yourself “oh well.” Most people will have trouble with this at first, so don’t worry about how well you are doing. Just let go of those words the best that you can. Keep repeating your meditation word, too.
8. Keep this going for ten minutes at least and strive for twenty. Don’t use any alarm to warn you, just open your eyes for a moment to check.
9. Sit and relax for several minutes once you’ve come out of your meditation. Keep your eyes closed for a couple of minutes before opening them. Don’t stand up just yet. Allow yourself time to come back into reality before doing so.
You should try to do this simple meditation at least once a day but two or more times per day really can have a positive effect on your daily stresses. Many people find that this simple meditation works well before they get their day started, when they are fully rested and before they have eaten breakfast.
When you have practiced this type of mediation for several days or even longer, you should learn the benefits of meditation and what it can offer. If you don’t feel any different, you may not be following each step appropriately. You need to focus on relaxation not on whether or not meditation is going to heal all of you.
